Instructions

The first person to see a cell was Robert Hooke, a British scientist.  In 1665, Hooke used a simple microscope to observe dead cork cells.  After his discovery, many centuries passed before scientists learned that cells contain organelles such as mitochondria.  Each organelle plays a specific role in helping the cell function.

CELL CITY : The example compares mitochondria to a city's power plants.  See if you can match each of the other organelles with a city structure that performs a similar function.
