Course Syllabus

Purpose:

The objective of the photography class is to give students a small background and history in photography and to give them some tools and some skills to take a good photograph.

They will learn how a camera operates and how to manipulate it in a way that will result in a picture that they can be proud of. Students will create a portfolio for the final project of the class.

Digital Cameras with digital media and USB connections

Photoshop Elements (Software)
Google Slides

  • 1st Six Weeks of the Class
    • Background Information – Homework
    • In class projects or worksheets – Daily
    • Paper Tests – Tests
  • 2nd and 3rd Six Weeks
    • Background Information on a particular topic or photo – Homework
    • Participation – Daily
    • Photographs for each two week project - Tests
  • Final Project
    • Portfolio of Photos from the entire Semester
    • New Photos added to the past photos
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the correct types of photos
    • Demonstrate ability to write a cutline with a caption
